HOUMA, La., September 23, 2026 — On September 23, 2026, the UHN Election Board certified the previously reported results from the September 5, 2026 Principal Chief Run-Off Election. The certification followed an election challenge filed by candidate Adam Crappel.
The certified results identify incumbent Lora Ann Chaisson as the winner of the run-off election. The attached results constitute the UHN Election Board’s official certification as of September 23, 2026. The Board will coordinate with Principal Chief Chaisson regarding her installation and oath of office for a second term as Principal Chief in accordance with the election rules.
