Any enrolled UHN citizen who has registered to vote in tribal elections may appear in person at the Tribal Office to cast their vote for Principal Chief through the absentee process. A photo ID is required to vote. To be counted, absentee ballots must be received at the Tribal Office by 4:20 p.m. on Friday, May 29, 2026. The Tribal Office is temporarily located at 187 Corporate Drive, Houma, LA 70360.
Eligible voters who are unable to appear at the office must submit a written request for an absentee ballot, with an original signature, to:
