VIDEO: Swearing in of Principal Chief Lora Ann Chaisson, October 10, 2026
Today, the United Houma Nation (UHN) Election Board held a virtual swearing-in ceremony for Principal Chief Lora Ann Chaisson’s second term. The UHN Constitution and Election Ordinance require that the oath of office be administered on the Saturday following two (2) weeks from the certification of the Election Results. Chief Chaisson had a commitment to be out of town today, so the Election Board opted to administer the Oath of Office virtually to ensure compliance.
