It is exciting to see a new program begin that can assist tribal veterans with legal services that are connected to keeping them from homelessness. As this is the first of hopefully more programs to support legal assistance for tribal citizens in need, the United Houma Nation is seeking to fill a vacancy for a Legal Assistant. The position is an entry level position for a paralegal to help support grant needs and legal tasks. This is a full-time position, and open until Friday, August 11th or until the position has successfully been filled.
Also, the UHN continues to be on the lookout for an Agriculture Coordinator. This position is needed to help grow and support the horticulture and fisheries efforts of the Tribe. The individuals should have prior knowledge and experience in agriculture and/or fisheries and be able to work collaboratively with the community by coordinating classes, hands on experiences, and planning to address food sovereignty in a culturally appropriate manner. The position can be full or part-time depending on the skill set of the individual. This position has been vacant and remains open until filled.
