Curtis Hendon Artwork Short Sleeve Tee

$25.00$28.00

The United Houma Nation is seeking to quarterly recognize talented artists in the tribe.  Our Fall 2020 artist is Mr. Curtis Hendon who recently joined the spirit world after a brief battle with cancer.

Born and raised on Isle de Jean Charles and later residing in Raceland with his family, Mr. Curtis who was commonly known as “Pootoo” and “Tuut” had an inspiration for storytelling through his paintings. Many of his paintings showcased his heritage and his love of his home.  The tee sold here represents his love of Isle de Jean Charles and the traditions of that community.  This tee is short sleeve and black with a full-color graphic of his work “Isle de Jean Charles Chief.”   The UHN is honored that his family has allowed us to share with you all so that his memory and work may live on.

PLEASE NOTE:  TEES ARE PRE-ORDER ONLY.  ORDERS WILL BE TAKEN UNTIL NOVEMBER 15TH BEFORE BEING FILLED SO THAT WE MAY PLACE A COMPREHENSIVE ORDER.

Please look for the companion product to this tee which is an 11 oz. mug featuring a compilation of Mr. Hendon’s work.  Mr. Curtis sadly passed away in September 2020. He has been such a huge help with the tribe, and we will continue to recognize his many talents and to continue his legacy.  The UHN will pass on 20% of sales of both the mug and tee to Mr. Hendon’s family.
