Daily UHN Social Check-In

As human beings we aren’t made to live socially isolated.  It is normal for us all to crave human contact that is being tested under the current national emergency.  We prefer to use the term individual isolate or observing personal space.  We are after all social beings.  As a Tribe we depend on one another, we hug, we kiss each others cheeks, and we laugh together to get through the hard times.  For everyone’s safety we recognize physical contact is just not possible; however, we are still a people who depend on one another and we are looking for ways to help everyone stay connected.

As of Friday, March 20, 2020, the UHN is launching a daily community “check-in” via Zoom technology.  Everyday at 6pm Central Standard Time, up to 100 tribal citizens can either join through video conference or call in by phone to participate.  The “check-in” will be limited to 1 1/2 hours.  Here’s the format:

This is an experimental effort to help connect our people.  Please expect we may have technical difficulties so be patient while we work through it.  We also may be making modifications as we go along for the betterment of everyone.

How do you access the “check-in”?

To participate by video conference click HERE at 6pm CST.  If you have never used Zoom before you will be directed to download the application.  Also, you will be joined into the group when the host joins.
